My Recount
Throughout my Green Lane Diary the activities that I have participated in have been the Brisbane’s Writers Festival and I was apart of Skyping Miranda. I was also researching oil spills as my topic for my Think+ Act+ Share=Change project. Some of the other activities I have participated in have been Clean up Australia Day and creating an artwork about the affects of oil spills. My Favourite activities that I have participated in have been the Brisbane’s Writers Festival because I got to speak in front of 200 students and also finally meeting Miranda in person. Some of my other favourite activities have been Skyping Miranda and asking her our questions about the Green Lane Diary.

These are the things that I have learnt this year. I have learnt all the affects and Impacts of oil spills during my research. I have also learnt that if we don’t try to make a difference the environmental issues will just keep on causing problems to the environment.

What I’ve learnt in this topic, how is it going to change my future? I will be more aware of environmental issues, I will care more about the environment than I do now and I will be more aware of Carbon Tax.

My Point of View on Carbon Tax

I agree with the Carbon Tax because big companies have to pay for polluting the environment. These days the big companies don’t appear to care about the environment so they should be charged. Another reason why I agree with the Carbon Tax is because it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions because the big companies won’t want to pay extra taxes so will invest in clean energy. The more carbon they use, the more they pay, so will reduce carbon therefore reduce their tax.

In Summary, I agree with the carbon tax because big companies should pay for polluting the environment and should reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

I found that taking the angles was a little challenging.

What have you learnt doing this timeline?
I have learnt how to use Timetoast really well and I have also learnt alot about Australia's Past.

What would you change if you did this Activity again?
I would do different dates to the other people in the class so people wouldn't get bored just looking at the same dates. However the will always be an overlap as some dates are very important to our past.

What  have I liked about Inquiry time ?
It has been really fun doing all the work at Inquiry Time.

What was challenging in Inquiry Time?
Trying to keep up with all the work we've done.

Why was Australia colonised ?
Because the Englishman wanted more land.

What do I know about Australia's colonial past?
I know alot of dates about the Australia's Colonial Past. eg: The First Fleet settlers arrived in Australia.
